These guidelines have been further updated in 2023 (see below) which was accompanied by an Editorial by Olle Ljungqvist, you can find it here.

The updated ERAS Gynecology Guidelines received the Most Downloaded Article Award for 2019 from the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer. The award was presented at the European Society of Gynecologic Oncology (ESGO) meeting on November 4, 2019, in Athens, Greece. These guidelines have now been downloaded over 85,000 times.

Obstetrics

The ERAS Guidleines for Cesarean Delivery were published in 2019 in 3 parts and can be found below. These guidelines are among the most downloaded from the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology (AJOG)

We are all aware of the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist, and how useful they are to improve safety. New work has recently modified the checklist to align with ERAS recommendations for patients undergoing major surgery within an ERAS protocol. This may help improve adherence to ERAS elements and ultimately perioperative outcomes.
